The Mediterranean Fish Bar in Cherwell Drive received a 5-star hygiene rating in its latest inspection on 12 February.

The cost of parking in Headington’s car parks is going up from 1 April.

@quarryrovers football club has written a comprehensive, well-reasoned and constructive set of comments and proposals about the design of the new Margaret Road sports pavilion. Margaret Road is their home ground.

Heavy rain overnight on Wednesday/Thursday caused the sewer in Ferry Road, Marston to overflow.

A man suffered serious burns and was taken to the JR Hospital after having an as yet unidentified substance thrown over him in an alleyway in Barton on Saturday evening.

The first exhibition of the latest plans for Access to Headington was held on Saturday, and was well-attended. The plans have been modified since the initial proposals, but there are still bound to be some problems with the details. I will post more under the Access2H tab when I’ve got something ready.

The function room refurbishment @TheMasonsArmsHQ is complete.

Headington Quarry Nursery School is looking for a new Head Teacher to replace Lesley Carrington, who retires at the end of the academic year.

Oxford University’s Big Data Institute on the Old Road campus was topped out on Friday. It is Make Architects’ @MakeArchitects fifth building on the campus. Here is their description of the building.

Not strictly Headington, but if you saw the announcement a few days ago that Oxfordshire’s District Councils and MPs are backing the idea of abolishing the County Council and creating four Unitary Authorites you might like to know that there is now a websiite under the name Oxfordshire Vision and a twitter @oxonvision.

Aldi have submitted a planning appplication (ref: 15/03709/FUL) for a new store on the Curry’s site at Horspath Driftway (where Homebase is).

According to the BBC, Hampshire Police have confirmed they have received a complaint alleging criminal behaviour by Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, the Trust involved in the death of Connor Sparrowhawk in 2013. The Trust is accused of producing false and misleading information, an offence under the 2014 Care Act.

Sobell House hospice is going to build a new £4m specialist facility at the Churchill Hospital.

There has been a landslip from the old quarry wall in the back garden of a house in Coppock Close, thought to have been caused by the exceptionally wet weather recently. Fortunately no-one was hurt.

Charles Young, spokesperson for the Headington Car Club car-sharing scheme, presented a petition to Oxfordshire County Council before Christmas asking them to reconsider their refusal to allocate two on-street parking bays in Headington (see HH 240). Here he is in a video from @ThatsOxfordTV explaining how car-sharing works.
