Southern Health NHS Trust, who were heavily criticised over the death of Connor Sparrowhawk at Slade House in 2013, pleaded guilty to Health & Safety charges at Banbury magistrates’ court. Sentencing is due at Oxford Crown Court in October. The services and the building have since been transferred to Oxford Health NHS Trust who run the Warneford Hospital, among others.

In Osler Road on Monday a man was threatened by having a ‘sharp object’ pushed nto his back. The attacker demanded the man’s car keys and stole the victim’s Lexus. Police are apppealing for witnesses and information.

We are getting some new white paint on the roads in central Headington.

As rush-hour traffic problems in the city centre worsened with the Folly Bridge road works, @Stagecoach_Ox terminated all their inbound services at The Plain on Thursday evening and @OxfordBusCo suspended city centre services.

Black Mamba Tattoos in Windmill Road has moved into the nearby Vente Hairdressers.

News broke on Tuesday that the Trauma Unit at the JR was unsafe if a fire broke out. There are several problems including, inevitably, the cladding. The Trust decided to evacuate the building and move patients and beds elsewhere in the hospital. This was completed by the end of Friday afternoon.

Connor Sparrowhawk’s mother’s personal details were leaked to medical staff facing a tribunal to decide if any of them were at fault over Connor’s death.

Barton residents are being offered a free course in video production and the chance to make a film about how they travel around the local area.

Some properties in Colwell Drive, Barton were evacuated on Thursday after a tree fell on a house. Luckily no-one was injured.

Bury Knowle Park is one of 6 Oxford Parks to be awarded a Green Flag this year.

Your weekly round-up of local news for 21 – 27 November.

Roadworks start today (Monday  28 November) on laying the Energy Project pipeline between the JR and Churchill hospitals. The affected locations are Latimer Road as far as Latimer Grange, and All Saints Road from Barrington Close to Lime Walk. These works are scheduled to run until Friday 16 December. You can see the full schedule here.

The Care Quality Commission’s latest report on Southern Health Trust, based on an inspection in September this year, says that they found “there had been a number of significant improvements made to the governance arrangements in order to identify and prioritise risks arising from the physical environment more effectively”.

I haven’t seen anything official, but I’m told that the @manorsurgery car park will be closed for at least two more weeks.

Oxford’s Lord Mayor and Headington Ward Councillor Altaf Khan was in the news after a Private Eye freedom of information request found that he was among several Oxfordshire councillors who had been summoned for non-payment of council tax. He has now paid the money owing.

Dan Greenall, who runs @OxfordVapours, won Young Entrpreneur of the Year in a competition run by accountancy firm Haines Watts.
